Frontpage can help you design sites that show very well in the search engines. However, you need to pay attention to some details. Keep in mind that website visibility is a very tricky topic. One false move can get your site banned forever from the search engines. Use the following information at your own risk.

Edit the page properties on every page you create. Right click on the page and choose page properties. You should enter a title, keywords and description. Make sure that your keywords are words that are on your page and whatever you do, don't spam the keywords.

Add a robots metatag to each page. You will usually want the search engine robots to find all of your pages. While you are editing the page properties, click the custom tab. In the user variables, add an item with a name of robots and a value of all, index, follow. This tells search engine spiders that find the page to place your page in their index and to follow any of your links on that page.

Use a table of contents. - When spiders visit your site they will follow your links in a fairly methodical fashion. A table of contents will help expedite the process. Make sure that the home page links to the table of contents. You might also want to look into generating sitemaps for Yahoo and Google.

Add alternate tags to your pictures. Whenever you put an image on your website, you should double click on the image. Click on the General tab, then add text in the alternate representations area. Don't get carried away but a good text line will help the image show up in places such as the images tab of Google.
